Indeed, Joshua Clayton Smith Lewis is my name and I’m that guy that is wearing a puka shell necklace and Ravenclaw hoodie, drinking a Rum Old Fashioned, and constantly looking stuff up on his phone. Whether it’s about a new rum I found, a new board game I heard about, or some documentation I forgot, I’m researching it. I just like to know things.

- Where are you from?

The most common question you will receive if you live in the South and have no accent. Well, I’m a military brat and lived in 10 different places and attended 10 different schools before I was 20. The constant change built a love of travel and a life of curiosity in me that defines who I am.

- What places?

Born in Germany then New Mexico, Mississippi, Singapore, Ohio, Virginia, Alabama, North Dakota, Florida and now Georgia. Not to mention all the places I’ve visited while living in each place.

- Programming Bartender Geek?

Absolutely, and actor. I found programming through a friend of mine. After chatting with me one day he told me that I would make a good programmer because of the way I think. I chuckled, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that. I decided to give it a try. I learned some things on a variety of learning platforms, and eventually committed to the Georgia Tech Full Stack Web Dev Program. It was an intense 24-weeks but I loved every second of it. The combination of creativity and logic was exactly what my brain needed.

Through this time I had to pay the bills, right? Enter the Restaurant Industry. My people. I love food and the whole act of going out and have worked in restaurants for 9 years. I have met incredible people and earned a lifetime of skills and knowledge that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Teamwork, Communication, Time Management, Stress Management, Problem Solving, you name it.

Geek. Lifelong Ravenclaw, Board game fanatic and Video game lover, Avid Manga Reader, Ex-Magic: the Gathering Judge, Halfling Merchant Cleric of Shinare or Drunken Master Pirate Chef, Marvel always, Improv aficionado etc.
